ü What company originally sold the system?
ü Is the company who sold the system still in business?
ü Do you have the contact information for the current solar company that payments are made to?
ü Is the solar system financed, leased, or paid in full?
ü If leased or financed, is the lease or financing assumable, or is there a buyout option available?
ü Was a PACE or HERO program used to get the solar system?
ü Do you have a copy of the lease agreement or purchase contract?
ü How much is the monthly payment and for how many more years?
ü What is the payoff?
ü Is there a pre-payment penalty?
ü When was the system installed?
ü How much additional do you pay the Electric Company for connection and any additional usage?
ü Does the system service the entire house or just a specific area like the pool?
ü Does the system lower the electric bill or eliminate it entirely?
ü Who gets or got the tax credit, rebate or utility credit, the homeowner, or the solar company?
ü What is the total number of panels?
ü How many Kw is the Solar system?
ü What is the warranty on the system, and does it cover the roof? Is it transferable?
ü If the system can’t be transferred to a new buyer, is the seller willing to pay off or buy out the contract through escrow?
If you are thinking of getting Solar for your home, remember that a buyer will be stuck with your choice whether good or bad and it could affect the sale either in a good way or a bad way.
